First Utility #askSuperLeague interview - part 2

On Tuesday we welcomed Jamie Langley, Matty Smith, Richie Myler, Eorl Crabtree, Luke Dorn and Jon Wilkin to the First Utility office to ask them your questions. Here’s part 2 of the interview. If you missed part 1 click here.

Robert Pieman Grievson asked Jamie Langley: ‘Who perms ya hair Langley?’

Jamie: ‘I first grew my hair long at 18 and it just came out curly so it’s actually natural! Everybody always grabs it when we’re out thinking it’s a wig.’

Jason Netherton asked Jamie: ‘Do you like tuna in spring water or brine?’

Jamie: ‘Preferably the tuna has to come in spring water and definitely have it on a brown bap or teacake for full effect.’

Jamie Walsh asked Matty Smith: ‘When are you signing a contract extension?’

Matty: ‘I’ve still got another year left until 2015 but I’m actually talking to them now about an extension, so hopefully in the really near future.’

Jack Reddy asked Matty: ‘What’s your opinion on the quarter final of the Challenge Cup between Wigan and Cas, with Wigan losing the quarters and battering Cas the week after?’

Matty: ‘It was a disappointing game as we weren’t at our best but Cas have obviously done really well to get to the final.’

SophieLea Stanton asked Matty: ‘Which young player do you think is going to go far in life?’

Matty: ‘I think Jo Burgess, the winger. He’s come onto the scene this year, done well and is probably our best winger.’

Jack Gibson asked Matty: ‘Who do you like better Luke Dorn or Richie Myler?’

Matty: ‘I don’t really know Luke Dorn, so I’d have to say Richie! Keep it English as well!’

Regan Brown asked Matty: ‘How did you train to get long range passes?’

Matty: ‘Being good at passing is something I’ve always been natural at really!’

Tom Padfield asked Matty: ‘Any tips for half backs? And also any tips for fighting Matt Ryan?’

Matty: ‘Just keep training hard. Matt Ryan bullied me a little at the beginning of the year so I just get one of our big lads to deal with him.’

Andrew asked Matty: ‘What’s the best thing about playing for Wigan?’

Matty: ‘I think everything really. Very professional club, great bunch of blokes and good environment to be a part of.’

Jarrod Fildes asked Jon Wilkin: ‘Who is the best player you have ever played alongside?’

Jon: ‘Kieran Cunningham.’

Asked to Luke Dorn: ‘What’s it like to play for Cas?’

Luke: ‘Great club, great fans, just a fun place!’

Ian Hudson (Hull FC fan) asked Luke: ‘What is Marc Sneyd like to be around at training and games?’

Luke:  ‘Sneydy’s the world’s most relaxed man. Nothing bothers him whatsoever so he’s good to be around.’

Asked to Luke: ‘What is the greatest try you have scored for Castleford?’

Luke: ‘Probably to win the home game this year against Wigan on the bell was the highlight for me.’

James Morley asked Eorl Crabtree: ‘What’s your best advice for forwards?’

Eorl: ‘The biggest thing for me is not so much the technical side of things, it’s the talk. You have to communicate with everyone around you and that helps the team.’

Junald Hussain asked Eorl: ‘What is the best advice you would give to a young player?’

Eorl: ‘It sounds obvious but if you enjoy what you’re doing, you tend to do it better.’
