At First Utility, we take our carbon footprint very seriously. Putting our customers in control and empowering them to make more informed decisions about their energy use means it’s easier to cut waste and be more efficient - without sacrificing comfort. We don't generate any of our own power, we buy it all from the wholesale market which represents the average UK fuel mix. As a retailer of energy, our focus is on energy efficiency and reducing waste.
As one of the first UK suppliers to offer Smart Meters, some of our customers saved 7% on their energy bills and as part of the Government’s national rollout plan, all our customers will receive a Smart Meter by 2020. We’ve also invested more than £3.5m to upgrade boilers and install loft and wall insulation to vulnerable homes under the Government Energy Company Obligation scheme to help reduce our customer's consumption and spend.
