Will I be charged an exit fee?

If you’re on a variable tariff, you won’t be charged an exit fee as you’re not on a fixed contract. If you’re on a fixed tariff, you’ll be charged an exit fee if you change to another tariff or switch away from us, and the cost of your exit fee depends on your tariff. You can find information about this in the terms and conditions within your tariff guide, or by using our virtual assistant, Ask First.

How do I know that I’ve been charged an exit fee?

You’ll see an alert in your online account, to warn you that you’re going to be charged an exit fee and it will be added to your next bill.

Why do you charge exit fees?

When you choose a fixed tariff, we're able to offer you our best prices at that time because we buy your energy in advance for the length of that particular tariff. Exit fees are designed to cover the costs we incur if you decide to end your contract early. I’m on a fixed tariff but I’m moving home, what do I do?

You can take your fixed tariff with you to your new property. As long as you switch your new supply to us within 30 days of moving home, you won't be charged an exit fee. For more information about moving home, click here.
