My Tariff Comparison Rate (TCR)
The Tariff Comparison Rate (or TCR) is an approximate guide for comparing tariffs, rather than an actual price and represents the average energy cost for the average customer on a particular tariff. The TCR is based on the energy used by the average household (3,100 kWh for electricity and 12,500 kWh for gas) with the standing charges and unit rates for that tariff.
Any discounts you’re eligible for will be taken into account, for example the yearly discount of £12 per fuel for paperless billing. You can find the TCR of your current tariff on your bill. The TCR is not currently available for tariffs that have different rates for different times of the day, for example economy 7.
