About Nest

Nest Thermostat is a smart thermostat that puts you in control of your heating and hot water via a smartphone, tablet or PC. So wherever you are, you're always in control of your home heating. The Nest Learning Thermostat learns the temperature that you like, then programs itself. It even turns itself down when you're away. So you save energy and stay comfortable. More info.

How to get Nest Learning Thermostat 

  1. Sign up to an eligible First Utility plan today. Click here to see available tariffs.
  2. Within 7 days, we'll send you an email inviting you to claim your Nest Thermostat.
  3. After another 7 days we'll tell you how to book your thermostat's installation.
  4. You'll receive your Nest Thermostat.
  5. Finally, a professional engineer will install it for you.

Will the Nest Learning Thermostat work with my heating system?

The Nest Learning Thermostat is compatible with most central heating systems. If you'd like to double check your home's compatibility, just use this tool and you'll know in a few moments. The Nest Learning Thermostat is compatible with most central heating systems, including:

  • Combi boilers
  • System and heat-only boilers
  • Domestic hot water tanks
  • Hydronic underfloor systems
  • Air-source and ground-source heat pumps (heating only)
  • Zoned systems (one Nest Thermostat per zone)
  • Heating systems with OpenTherm technolog

What do I need for the Nest Thermostat to work in my home?

To have the Nest Thermostat successfully installed, you must have a fully working central heating system, plus:

  • a dual fuel supply from First Utility;
  • a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi with broadband internet;
  • an active email address;
  • a smartphone or tablet with iOS 9.0 or higher, Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) or higher;
  • a power socket with 100–240 V.

What happens to my heating if my Wi-Fi goes down?

If you are without Wi-Fi or internet you are still able to control your heating and schedule through the Nest device.

Do Nest's work with prepayment meters?

The Nest Thermostat is available on selected First Utility tariffs. Currently, these tariffs are only available to customers with credit meters. Click here to see available tariffs.

When will I get my Nest?

When you switch to a tariff that includes our Nest Thermostat offer, we'll email within seven days of your tariff going live to claim your free Nest Thermostat, followed by a second email seven days after this to book your free Nest Thermostat installation.

You must claim your Nest within 90 days of getting your email. Unfortunately, after this, the web link will expire, and you won't be able to claim your Nest.

Please check your emails for these, including your spam folder.

These steps need to be completed before you have your Nest Thermostat successfully installed.

The Nest Thermostat will be delivered before the installation date; we'll email you when it's been dispatched.

I need to change my Nest installation date

To make changes to your Nest Thermostat installation date, simply log into your Home Services account and make your changes. Click here.

Alternatively, you can email nest@bizzby.com, with the following information: your name, email address, contact telephone number, new installation date. 

I'm moving home, can I take my Nest with me?

You can take your tariff and Nest Thermostat with you to your new home.

The Nest Thermostat should be professionally uninstalled from your current property and re-installed at your new property if you wish to take it with you.
