partnership with Google is testament to our commitment to being an innovative and customer
focused energy company. By offering Google
PowerMeter we are providing our customers with
an exciting new way to control their energy consumption.
Do I need to become a first:utility customer to access Google PowerMeter?
Yes. If you are not already a first:utility customer you will need to be eligible for a smart meter based tariff in order to gain access to Google PowerMeter.
Do I need a smart meter to access Google PowerMeter?
Yes. A smart meter is the only type of meter that provides the level of complex data needed by Google PowerMeter. Our smart meters are currently available in the Midlands and East Midlands regions. See below for details of when our smart meters will be available in your region.
I am an existing customer with a smart meter, how do I access Google PowerMeter?
You can access Google PowerMeter now if you are a first:utility Smart customer! Just log in to your online account and follow the link to Google PowerMeter in the menu.
Will this cost me any money?
No. first:utility is the only energy supplier in the UK to offer free smart meters to its customers. Smart meter customers can access Google PowerMeter free of charge.
How do I get a smart meter?
Please visit our Smart tariff page to find out if you are eligible for a free smart meter and to sign up to our Smart tariff.
When will you be offering smart meters in my region?
Our strategy is to roll-out smart metering on a region by region basis, until we are delivering at a national level. We plan to offer smart meters and our Smart tariff to domestic customers during 2010.
