Welcome to My Energy
My Energy is our intuitive new energy saving plan which shows you when, where and how you can make big savings on your gas and electricity.
The programme sits in the My Account tab on the menu above and uses your actual meter data and information about your household to provide you with personalised tips to help you save both energy and money.
What it means to you
In a nutshell, My Energy means less time thinking and more time saving.
We analyse your actual meter data to give you the advice you need to lower your bills and your energy usage, so all you have to do is log into your First Utility account to find out what you can save and how. It’s energy saving as it should be.
Similar homes comparison
Each month My Energy takes your actual meter readings and compares them to similar households in your area to show you how your home stacks up.
The result? An insight into how efficient your home really is, an energy saving benchmark to aim for and a bit of healthy competition to inspire you to make even bigger savings.
Don’t worry if you can’t see the similar homes comparison. As soon as we have enough information about your usage and enough similar First Utility homes to give you a useful comparison, we will add this to your account.
Personalised tips to reduce your bills
Tell us a few quick facts about your home and you’re all set to receive energy saving tips tailored specifically to your household. They're simple and relevant to you, and will help you to make big savings on energy and money each month.
In short, My Energy delivers results for both the environment and your bank balance. Everybody wins.
Track how your usage has changed
You can keep on top of your energy saving progress through graphs in your online account and regular reports to your email inbox*. These updates help you to see the effect of the changes you make to your usage - so as you follow your personalised tips you should see your usage drop month after month.
The longer you are a First utility customer, the more information we will be able to give you about your usage. Once we have a year’s worth of information, you will be able to compare your year on year usage and set goals to help you use less energy this year than you did last year, on a monthly basis.

Right now we're hard at work to bring you even more energy saving tools as part of the My Energy experience. These include:
High usage text alerts
If you have a smart meter My Energy can build a picture of your daily energy usage patterns. This means that if you're using more energy than normal, we will send you a quick text to let you know, so you can try to reduce your usage in time for your bill.
You’ll soon be able to compare your usage against weather conditions in the area on a specific day, so you can gain an even clearer understanding of how the weather affects what you use – and what you spend.
Energy saving on Facebook
We’re also bringing out a Facebook application which will allow you to compete with your friends to see which of you is the most energy efficient. As well as performing as individual households you’ll be able to form teams and compete with other groups of people to compare your usage to other similar households. After all, a little competition never hurt anyone!
Which tariffs get My Energy?
now comes with all First Utility tariffs for both new and existing customers. Read on to find out more about My Energy for our iSave and Smart tariffs.
With iSave, you submit your own meter readings online each month. As well as accurate billing, this allows My Energy to provide you with energy saving insights tailored to your household in return.
This is the tariff we recommend if you really want to take control of your energy usage. The meter readings we automatically receive from our Smart customers each day are a lot more detailed than the data we get from our iSave customers, meaning we can provide even more accurate information to help you save on gas and electricity.
