About the iSave tariff
iSave is designed to help you save. Even with the constant price changes amongst energy companies, iSave remains one of the UK's cheapest and most popular dual fuel tariffs.
With its innovative meter read submission feature, iSave gives you the option to submit regular meter reads online, so that you can receive monthly bills based on your actual energy usage instead of estimations.
iSave is the tariff for you if you want to be proactive in how you save money on your energy bills, with no cancellation fee or contractual tie-in. You will have the chance to submit a meter read every month before we bill you, so that your bill is based on your actual, monthly usage and not estimated.
Submitting your meter readings online is quick and easy, we'll even send you an email to remind you when to do it. To see just how easy it is, view our frequently asked questions below.
Smarten up
Customers on the iSave tariff will be the first to be offered the option to get a free smart meter installed, as First Utility continues its roll-out of free smart meters to UK households. A smart meter submits reads automatically as often as every half and hour for electricity and daily for gas, meaning you receive 100% accurate bills.
*Please note: the annual dual fuel discount is capped at £45 for electricity and £75 for gas.
Questions about iSave Tariff
- Are the prices quoted on your website the lowest you offer?
Yes, we always publish our most competitive rates.
- How do you pay the dual fuel discount?
The dual fuel discount will be credited to your bill annually, based on a year's consecutive bill payments at the percentage rate detailed on your tariff guide when you signed up.
- Can you provide me with 100% accurate bills without a smart meter?
No. Only smart meters can provide 100% accurate bills each month, however with our iSave tariff you can submit regular meter readings to ensure your bills are as accurate as possible.
- What is the process for submitting meter readings - is it easy?
Yes, we realise that most people have been customers of other energy suppliers, and will not be familiar with this new process, so we have made it as easy as possible. This is the process:
- You become a First Utility iSave customer and your supply is switched over
- In your first month of billing you will receive an email from us 5 days before the end of the month reminding you that it is time to submit your meter read
- The email will contain your estimated readings for electricity and gas and our charges
- To make this figure accurate customers can simply click on the link in the email
- The link takes you to your First Utility online account where you can type in your meter reads for both meters (electricity and gas).
- Can you supply me with electricity only?
No. The iSave tariff is dual fuel only.
- Will you notify me if the prices set out in the iSave tariff change and what notice will you give me?
Yes. As this is a variable tariff, our rates may change from time to time, in line with any wholesale energy market increases and decreases. Any amendments to your tariff will, where practical, be communicated to you within a minimum of 35 days after the change has been implemented. If the change to your tariff is to your significant disadvantage, when compared to the rest of the industry, subject to clause 2.3 of our Terms & Conditions, you may terminate the contract.
- Is there a cancellation fee?
No. Customers who sign up to our Smart or iSave tariffs are not contracted to First Utility and therefore will not have to pay a cancellation fee. However, if you are an existing customer on a two year contract and have been with First Utility for less than 2 years, a cancellation fee of £50 per fuel may apply. This will be detailed in the tariff sheet you were given at the time you signed up to First Utility. If you are unsure whether this fee will apply to you please call Customer Services on 0845 215 5000 quoting your account number and they will be able to tell you.
