Google PowerMeter FAQs
Why is Google PowerMeter stopping?
Google has decided to stop offering the PowerMeter service. This is based on their own business priorities and is not related to First Utility.
When will this take effect?
Google PowerMeter will be available until 16th September 2011, after this date the service will be withdrawn completely.
What will happen to my Google PowerMeter account?
After the 16th September 2011 your Google PowerMeter account will be shut down.
Do I need to do anything?
No, you don't need to take any action. If you want to access your historical data you can do so by visiting your Google PowerMeter account where a function has been added that enables you to download this information. This will be available until 16th September.
Will I still be able to see my data?
Your data will be available as normal until the 16th September 2011, after this point you won't be able to view any data via Google PowerMeter.
Your usage information will of course be available on your First Utility online account. For more information on how to use your online account please click here.
Your historical data will be available to download from Google PowerMeter until your account is closed on 16th September 2011.
Will this affect the rest of my Google account?
No, the rest of your Google account will be available as normal.
Will you be replacing Google PowerMeter?
Not only is your energy usage available via your First Utility online account, we are also developing a fantastic new iGoogle gadget based on the usage you see when you log into the First Utility portal! The great thing about this is that you will be able to see your gas usage on iGoogle too! We will keep you updated with improvements and advancements as and when they happen.
How do I access my First Utility online account?
Just visit our website, www.first-utility.com and click on the 'My account' link at the top right hand side.
Can I still sign up to Google PowerMeter
No, we're no longer offering this service to new customers.
