Digital meter

These are modern types of meter. The numbers of units used are shown on the digital display in a row of figures.

To read this type of meter:

  • Press the button on the front of your meter (in our example the button is blue, but the colour can vary between blue, grey and black depending on the type of meter you have.)

  • When you first press the button the entire display will show. This is to indicate that your display panel is fully functional.

  • Each time you press the button after this either the time, date or meter reading figures will appear (the order will vary depending on the meter you have.)

  • Single rate meters are for those who pay one rate for the whole day (two-rate are when it is split in to day and night rates)

  • On the screen it will say "Rate 1:" then your figures. Always remember that the reading on the digital meter is the total number of units used.

  • Write down the numbers shown from left to right and submit them to First Utility.
