 Rota Disconnections

In very exceptional circumstances, for example if there is a severe shortage of electricity production in the UK, distribution areas may be required to disconnect electricity to customers to reduce the demand for electricity to match the level of production.   The country is divided into blocks, based on postcode, and these blocks are then switched off for minimum intervals of three hour periods according to a rota.  The letter on your bill identifies which block you are in so that if a rota is published you will know when it is your turn to be disconnected.  There is no need to panic this action would only be taken in a severe emergency affecting the whole country and only when authorised by the Secretary of State.
