Many people recommend comparing prices online and switching suppliers when prices change, but prices are changing regularly, and who’s got the time to keep on top of it all?

First Utility may not always have the cheapest gas and electricity going, but we are committed to helping our customers use less energy, so their bills are cheaper. To do this, we are rolling out our smart meters free of charge to UK households.

Smart meters automatically submit electricity readings every half an hour, and gas readings daily. This detailed usage information is then available to consumers as clear graphs shown on a personal online account.

By having access to this detailed information consumers can understand how and where they are using the most energy, and identify ways to make savings. By making simple behavioural changes you can cut your usage for life, reducing the impact on the environment, and helping to ensure you have the cheapest gas and electricity bills possible.

Our smart meters are installed free of charge for all customers on our smart tariff. Currently available in the East and West Midlands, we are rolling out our smart tariff to the rest of the UK through 2010. If you don’t live within the East and West Midlands you can be one of the first to get a smart meter by signing up to our competitive iSave tariff.
