- Register your business
You can register with first:utility by calling our sales team on 0845 215 1935 or complete our online enquiry form
Our opening hours are Monday to Friday from 8am to 8pm, and Saturday from 9am to 5pm.
- Confirm a smart meter installation date
Once you have registered, you will receive a telephone call and/or email from us. We will ask you to confirm an appropriate date and time for one of our engineers to install your smart meter into your business premises.
- Confirmation of your registration
We will write to you confirming both your registration and smart meter installation date. From the point your contract is approved, the transfer to us will take place within 28 days, and we aim to install your smart meter within 60 days of the supply start date.
- Before the day of your installation
The company who are due to install your smart meter will try to contact you before the day of installation to confirm the schedule and access arrangements.
- Installation
The installation of your new smart meter will normally take approximately an hour. During this time the power to your premises will be disconnected.
- You're up and running!
Once your new smart meter is installed you will be up and running. From now on you won't have to provide any meter readings, and your bills will be accurate!
