Due to growth first:utility has an exciting opportunity for a Dataflows Team Leader to assume control of the flows processes and procedures for both gas and electricity.
The successful candidate will have responsibility for a newly developed dataflow function within the Commercial Department which will entail ensuring that automated and
efficient business processes are implemented to deal with large scale issues as well as ensuring that individual MPAN/MPR problems are resolved.
The role will entail a close working relationship with other departments within first:utility and third part agents and will include supervision of a small team.
You will need experience of leading a team of people, experience of gas processes is advantageous, the ability to embrace new technology and experience of Formfill
software is desirable. You will also need 2-3 years experience in a similar role and ideally a degree in a science related subject.
This exciting role primarily involves on-going development of new workflow enabled web applications using Java and the prime technology to support the operational requirements of the organisation.
You will be involved in the development of Java Based components and applications. The successful applicant will be expected to design and document according to internal and best industry practices,
adhere to internal technical standards and meet business requirements. You will need a good knowledge of Java programming language, object orientated principal and techniques with exposure to Java IDEs
and debugging tools, a good understanding of the complete development cycle and a working knowledge of technologies such as XML, SQL, Linux and HTML.
A new opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our Framework Engineering team to assist in the enhancement
and support of the operational architecture and to be involved with new developments. This role would be suited to an individual who possesses a
desire to get under the cover of what makes a system tick, and should be considered more of a systems programming type of role as opposed to
applications development. You will need a degree or HND level qualification in a computing or technology related subject, an understanding of
Object Orientated principals, exposure to Unix/Linux, a basic grasp of the Java programming language, exposure to low level languages (e.g. "C"),
a knowledge of operation system architectures, awareness of networking and workflow or messaging systems would be advantageous. Must be a team player.
This position will involve ensuring the smooth running and proactive management of all IT systems, the provision of appropriate support and advice for all.
You will also be required to maintain, repair, enhance, up-date monitor and report on Linux servers, Windows Active Directory/domain servers, finance system,
billing system, general database systems, email systems, back up systems, security systems, websites, LAN/WAN infrastructure, desktops, telephone systems and
Integrated Gateways and associated systems. You will need excellent fault finding and problem solving abilities, the ability to cope with several projects at
any one time, sometimes working to tight deadlines, good organisational skills and high attention to detail, the ability to sanity check and challenge approaches
from a sound technical base and a flexible approach.
